After a successful kickoff to the NFL’s 2007 season, the first Sunday of the NFL season is upon us and it’s time to look at the top rookies as they prepare for their second game. Here are the top 5 players to watch this week. It’s no secret that the NFL Draft is a crapshoot, but the 2007 class has been a little different. There are a handful of players who have already made big contributions in just one game. And with each game, the impact of these rookies grows as they settle into their roles. So which rookies should you be watching this week? Here are the top 5 players to watch:1. Leonard Fournette, RB, JaguarsDrafted fourth overall, Fournette did not disappoint in his regular-season debut. Against the Texans, Fournette rushed for 100 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown. With a punishing running style, Fournette will be a focal point of the Jaguars’ offense and should see plenty of touches each week. Keep an eye on the Jaguars’ ground game and look for Fournette to continue to rack up yards.2. Kareem Hunt, RB, ChiefsAfter Spencer Ware went down with a knee injury, Hunt became the featured back for the Chiefs. In his first NFL game, Hunt rushed for 148 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. He also added 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns. While he may not put up these numbers every week, Hunt has shown the potential to be a true three-down back for the Chiefs.3. Dalvin Cook, RB, VikingsThe Vikings may have found their replacement for Adrian Peterson when they drafted Cook in the second round. In his NFL debut, Cook rushed for 127 yards on 22 carries and added 10 receiving yards. With Sam Bradford’s status still uncertain, the Vikings will likely lean on Cook to carry the load on offense. Keep an eye on Cook as he continues to justify his draft position.4. Deshaun Watson, QB, TexansWatson may have only thrown for 125 yards in his debut, but it was his playmaking ability that has people talking. Watson threw for a touchdown and ran for another, showing off his dual-threat potential. With his mobility and playmaking ability, Watson gives the Texans a dangerous offense and could be a breakout player as the season progresses.5. Malik Hooker, S, ColtsThe Colts’ defense may have struggled against the Rams, but Hooker stood out with an impressive interception. The 15th overall pick showed off his ball-hawking skills and could be a difference-maker in the Colts’ secondary. Keep an eye on Hooker as he continues to make plays for a struggling defense.
